Breath that smells like pee or window cleaner is hard to ignore, at least by others. And that is a good thing. Urine or ammonia smelling breath can be a warning sign of kidney disease or even life threatening chronic kidney failure. Because people with diabetes or hypertension are at increased risk for kidney disease, they should be on the lookout for this unpleasant warning sign.
