Beefy red Tongue

If your tongue looks more like a rare steak than ham steak and eating spicy foods makes it burn, you may have the classic signs of a condition called BALD TONGUE, medically known as atrophic glossitis. As the name implies, the tongue has lost its protective hair-like papillae, leaving it red and irritated. Like a balding head, a balding tongue tends to occur in older people. It may be a sign that their dentures do not fit well and are rubbing against their tongues. But it may also signal a vitamin B deficiency or thrush
