Night Blindness

Night blindness can gradually creep up on us, making it increasingly difficult to see what lurks in the dark, creepy or otherwise. Not seeing well in the dark, medically known as NYCTALOPIA, is yet another normal, annoying sign of aging.

Night blindness is also a common sign of a cataract. And it is one of the earliest warning signs of vitamin A (retinol) deficiency, which can lead to very dry corneas and retinal damage.

However, if you are young and have night blindness, it may be the first sign of a genetic condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa, a degenerative disease of the retina that may lead to severely impaired vision in some cases.
