Indent or Notch Teeth

If you have smooth indentations on your teeth, it may be a sign that you are eating too many oranges and lemons. Acid in these and other foods can wear down tooth enamel, causing tooth erosion.

A V-shaped notch at the bottom of your teeth near your gum line can be a sign of overzealous brushing. Sometimes overuse of toothpicks can also cause these grooves, because you are actually digging through your teeth's protective enamel coating. But more likely these notches are a sign of teeth grinding, medically called BRUXISM.
