Watery Mouth
If your mouth spouts spit when you speak, it can be quite embarassing. Excessive saliva may be a reaction to certain medications, especially cholinergic drugs, which are used to treat dry mouth and glaucoma. It is also often a sign of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), more commonly known as acid reflux.
A watery mouth can signal some more serious conditions such as gastric ulcers, liver disease, pancreatitis, neurological disorders, and esophageal obstruction or cancer. On a more positive note, it may also be an early clue that you are pregnant.
The average person produces about a quart of saliva a day. That is about 10,000 gallons in a lifetime.
If you start foaming at the mouth, you may fear the worst, Rabies. However, unless you have recently been bitten by an animal, you probably do not have this life threatening disease. More likely, your frothy mouth is a sign of dry mouth or diabettes.
