Twitchy Tongue
Try keeping your tongue still while looking in a mirror at your open mouth. It is virtually impossible because a normal tongue will jerk and twitch. But a constantly quivering tongue may be a clue that you have ESSENTIAL TREMOR (ET), a fairly common, slowly progressing, but usually not debilitating movement disorder that affects about 10 million people in the U.S.
A tongue tremor can also signal other movement disorders, such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis. In addition, twitchy tognue may be a reaction to medications used to treat anxiety and other psychological problems, or a telltale sign that you have a seriously overactive thyroid.
