Pursed Lips

If you see someone with pursed lips, the word prissy or mean may be on the tip of your tongue. But pursed lips can signal a serious immunologic disorder called SCLERODERMA, which causes a hardening of the skin and scarring of the internal organs. As the skin around the lips tightens, making it difficult to open the mouth, the lips take on a puckered,  pursed look.

Full, red lips are considered very sexy in many cultures. Scientist believe there is an evolutionary basis for this : plump lips are a visual sign of fertility. Indeed, the lips of pubescent girls swell when they are sexually excited.
